Recycling coffee bags

Before, coffee beans were packed in sacks, but now…

Most of the coffee drunk in Finland is ready ground and that is why the packaging has an important role. Coffee is vacuum packed in order to maintain the flavor. The material includes aluminum and plastic. It is multi-layered laminated film and that is why it is so durable. You can burn it in high temperature but otherwise it is unsuitable for energy waste. You can only dispose of it or invent new functions for it.

One way to use coffee bags is basketry. Basketry is the most traditional Finnish handwork. Before, baskets were made from birch bark, but today people use recycling materials for basketry, for example coffee bags and newspapers. Feel free to use different kind of recycling materials because your imagination is the only limit.
